updates and previews

Ok so recently I finished up a clip that I was luckily invited to direct for the new season of Yo Gabba Gabba. Equally lucky, I was invited to show the Morcheeba “Enjoy The Ride” and Jakob Dylan “Evil Is Alive And Well” videos at the San Francisco International Animation Festival! Gene Deitch is even gonna be there, and unfortunately I have to miss it.

I’m missing it though for a good reason. Over the next few weeks I have to concentrate on my upcoming (first!) solo art show at the Grassy Knoll Gallery in Portland, OR.

The good Ward Jenkins is currently showing at the gallery so be sure to check him out, and here are some unfinished previews to my show “Culture Jelly”…

The show’s not entirely comprised of vikings, I promise.

These look killer, Joel. Congrats on the first solo show! I’m surprised it’s taken so long for people to beg you for such a thing. Not sure what my schedule looks like yet, but I’ll try to make it down.

Coincidentally, my first solo show will also be in December, on the 12th at Schmancy in Seattle. You’ll probably be long gone from the NW by then, but if you’re around it’d be great to have you stop by.

    Looking forward to more!

That’s great Joel! Congratulations! Jess and I are always looking for a good excuse to visit Portland, so maybe we’ll be able to make it down for the show.
