Put my 12 x 12 Wacom up on ebay. It’s served me well, but I don’t have a serial port home for it any longer. Check ‘er out.
On another note… here’s a clip from a super-secret-always-procrastinated-project that will hopefully one day see the light.
sheeeeeeeeeeeeit!!! I feckin’ looooove your drawins. have you ever made a bad drawing? Excelent design and shape and character…man, someday…someday i wanna be like you…i’m still trying to figure out my “style”…sigh…i’m going to go throw up in glee.
are you still looking for work???
Save the varmints!
Kill the varmits!
Great work here.
Hey…I remember you showing me these. They were badass and funny and as hell. Really glad to hear that you’re going to showing these beauties.
Thanks for the kindness, members of the world wide community.
geen- You’re way too kind. I’m struggling with style issues everyday. Not sure if I’ll ever settle down on one. *Sigh*
todd- Yes! I’m at your service if needed, sir.
joli & heath- Maybe I’ll reveal their fate soon. I think you’d both be half-pleased with the outcome.
steve- You’re one of the few. I’ve gotta find time to polish this thing up one day.
It’s great to see these creatons and varmints once again my dear Truss. My memory definitely didn’t do this stuff justice. I love the limited retro-ish muted colors. I hope you find the time and desire to finish this baby up someday.
Your stuff has a great style that has a knowing retro look but at the same times doesn’t feel dated or confined by any sort of associations with older styles. What are your interests? Do you have a goal of working to put together some kind of television series for an Adult Swim kind of market or do you have other aspirations? It could be some kinf of show about sci-fi vikings, man that’d be cool.
Sir Snyde- Glad to see you hanging out at the dumpster here. These wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for you. I definitely have the desire to finish these up… it’s just a matter of which project to put off so I can do this one, you know?
toliverchap- Thanks for the great comment. It’s interesting to read how others view my work and I’ve got to say your analysis is definitely what I strive for.
I absolutely put cartoons, illustration and design from the pre-1960 era on a pedastel. Then I also super admire the work of contemporary artists/designers such as Saiman Chow and Chris Reccardi as well.
Funny you ask about Adult Swim. I’ve currently working on two pitches aimed for that market and your guess isn’t really super far off the mark. We’ll see if anything happens.
Apparently I should’ve spent my time working on a more kid-friendly pitch since that’s who contacts me for content. Oh well.
In the meantime it’s all about trying to redesign my site, feeding the family and finding those opportunities to direct projects when I can. I think some new opportunities are on the horizon. Fingers crossed.
Thanks a ton for the inquiry. Keep a watch on the dumpster, bruddah!
I can’t wait till the secrets out of the (white trash?) bag.
Pressure’s on… gotta get mo up! Thanks for tuning in, Phil.
Yes JOEL!!!! I love the secret project. You MUST finish it. YOU MUST!!! EVeryone is in for a real treat when it’s out in the world for public viewing. Really hilarious stuff with great drawings.
Great illustrations!! love the design!
monkeyfeather- You’ve always been so encouraging about this project. Thanks for being so supportive. When are you going to do a big reveal on your own? It’s a winnah!
alina- Thanks a lot! Trying to push my shapes on this project a little.
Whoa, awesome drawing!! I love this blog!
Hey Katie- What’s a nice n’ talented girl like you hanging out in a dumpster like this? Thanks fer the compliments. You know I’m a big fat fan.
S-s-s-sh! It’s a secret.
Har, Uloo! It’s no secret to you. Great to see people responding to this older piece of work.
